Dress CodeLeotards or a close fitting shirt and shorts should be worn. If you wish to buy a leotard I recommend “The Zone“ at www.the-zone.co.uk. We have a club discount of 10% (telephone orders only) and you need to quote 25883 when ordering. Our club leotard is any from the “Jubilee” or “Sienna” range from The Zone. As the leotards are a snug fit, buy the next size up unless the gymnast is small for their age. Please note there is no pressure for you to buy a club leotard or indeed any leotard. Health and SafetyWhilst safety is the priority, like all sports gymnastics carries with it some risk. Please minimise the risk by ensuring the following;
Class Structure, Content and EquipmentThe class will always start with a group warm up, sometimes to music, then we break into smaller groups and focus on appropriate gymnastic skills. We always finish with a cool-down stretch. The equipment provided is suitable for children up to the age of 12. Mini versions of competition apparatus such as bars and beam are used which will give the same sensation but without the intimidation and risk of working at the full height. Coaching Policy and Gymnast BehaviourGymnasts are expected to show good behaviour and discipline in each class and adhere to the club rules. The coach has a right to manage behaviour accordingly, such as giving a warning and asking a gymnast to sit out for a designated period if he/she is causing undue risk to his/herself or others. Parents and carers will always be informed at the end of the class. Contact: Josette Cornish Tel: 07786 438 763
